Katy is a licensed master barber, esthetician and professional stylist with years of experience who has chosen to focus solely on men’s grooming. In addition to men’s haircutting and styling, she is the salon go-to for brow shaping, skin care and on-camera grooming services. Her background in the Arts; mainly photography, theater, and film, give her an unrivaled ability to see the the whole picture. She understands how to approach her discipline with an artist’s eye when it comes to cutting and styling your hair.
In 2010 Katy graduated from Vidal Sassoon Academy specializing in Intensive Men’s Cutting and Grooming. Immediately after Katy was asked to join Martial Vivot Salon Pour Hommes in 2011 as Martial’s apprentice and Losi’s on-set assistant. She became a stylist and men’s groomer at the salon the very next year. She specializes in educating her clients not only about their hair but how to get the most out of their texture, length, style, and cultivate a daily routine to any cut and style. From your initial appointment, Katy will listen to you and discuss all things hair. Her goal is for you to leave with a clear plan for the daily, weekly, or monthly plan in order to achieve the desired hairstyle.
Paired with her keen eye for precision and her masterful approach of using soft texturing and layering, Katy’s techniques will leave your hair easy to manage and grow out at your desired pace. Katy has mastered a unique approach that allows her to ensure she has created the best version of her clients’ selves.
As one of the most sought after stylists in NYC and within the grooming industry Katy’s work has been praised in New York Times, BlackBook, Details, Men’s Health, People, and has been seen on The Oprah Winfrey show, Bloomberg TV, The Style Network, The Food Network, Extra, and the E! Network. She has worked with many designers and for New York fashion week with Tom Ford, Michael Bastin, and Michael Kors. She has also worked on such celebrities as Nathan Lane, John Goodman, Eric Stonestreet, Michael Kors, Matt Dillon, Kevin Bacon, Daniel Huston, and Michael McDonald, Goyte, to name a few.
