Our Story

Martial Vivot's career began at fifteen with a four-year apprenticeship in France, where he was named best apprentice by the French hair academy.

He trained at the Toni & Guy Academy in London and earned his Master's degree in France before moving to New York in 1999, where he quickly became the stylist of choice for many of Manhattan's most influential men, and the authority on men's grooming for GQ, Vogue Hommes and New York.

In July 2008 he opened Salon Pour Hommes, across the street from the MoMA on 54th Street — the first men's salon in New York City with world-class stylists on staff, offering men the same caliber of service the world's most illustrious women enjoy at the city's legendary salons. The salon was designed by Caroline Bailly and Ron Kopels in natural metal, wood and steel — an oasis of masculine, upscale sophistication.

In 2013, Martial — together with stylists Losi and Victor Szeto — launched the all-natural, organic grooming collection: shampoo, conditioner, creme, gel, paste, and beard & face oil. In October 2017 he opened the second salon, in the West Village, with co-owner Jerome Obry. Today both Manhattan salons carry the same standard.
